From Military Spouse to Community Nurse: Sarah Pendlebury's Transition to NHS Scotland

Sarah Pendlebury's journey epitomises the versatility and resilience of military spouses in navigating career transitions. Married to a serving officer, Sarah's relocation across various military bases provided her with unique experiences, ultimately culminating in a fulfilling role within NHS Scotland.

relocations, residing in Catterick, Camberley (Sandhurst), Abbey Wood (Bristol), and finally settling in Inverness in August 2023.

 Prior to joining NHS Scotland, Sarah perceived the organisation positively. The job advert was enticing, and the interview process, though intense, showcased organisational efficiency, leaving a lasting impression of a well-structured and
inviting workplace.

Sarah serves as a Community Staff Nurse in East Inverness, a role that entails visiting patients in their homes to provide a range of medical assistance. Her day-to-day activities include administering medications, managing dressings, providing palliative care, and assisting with procedures such as catheterisation, reflecting her dedication to improving patient well-being.

Sarah finds fulfilment in her role at NHS Scotland, citing three key aspects that contribute to her job satisfaction:
